The Old South Gaylord Business Improvement District (BID), established in 1990, was created to manage the ongoing maintenance of the street renovations completed in 1992. Covering both sides of South Gaylord Street between East Tennessee and East Mississippi Avenues, the BID is funded through a mill levy paid by commercial property owners within the district.

The BID’s primary responsibility is to maintain the district’s street improvements, including:

  • Sidewalk upkeep
  • Light pole maintenance and utilities
  • Snow removal
  • Tree health and replacement
  • Seasonal flower care around trees
  • Trash receptacle maintenance
  • Sprinkler system management

By focusing on these essential services, the Old South Gaylord BID helps preserve the street’s historic charm and welcoming atmosphere while supporting a clean, safe, and vibrant commercial district.
